Thursday 28.8.2014: Farewell Evening

After rushing back and forth, we had the farewell evening in Pikku-Iita restaurant downtown. Iisalmi City Library’s former director Ullamaija Hirvonen warmly welcomed us to enjoy the last evening together. During the evening we heard swinging jazz moods performed by Sopeva Quartet and wistful melodies of Debussy which the principal of Upper Savonia Music Institute Tapani Lakaniemi played with his flute. We also had a chance to hear Ullamaija playing her favorite songs by piano.

Overall the evening went fast with good music flowing into our ears, tasty food on a plate and lovely friends and colleagues around. Before the evening ended our guests from Croatia gave us a glimpse of the soon upcoming LILI-meeting in Korcula. Although the evening had to end, no sad feelings of departure could catch us.  With a little help of our partners from Korcula, our thoughts already flied anxiously to Croatia. It was delightful to spend the week with you and we’ll meet again!
